If i were to draft a law regulating the use of solitary confinement, some elements i would contain is the maximum length of time for an inmate. I believe that keeping an inmate in solitary confinement for 5 years is a little to much for what they did inside even though it doesnt reflect what they did to get in jail. I would make it like a month and see how they do back with the others. Unless its a repeated offense then i would extend there total number of years in jail for then solitary confinement cause there going to be in there anyways whys it matter if there with others not like there allowed to talk at all. Creating more solitary confinement cells is going to cost more money then we already need to spend on these criminals.
I would restrict the prison officials discretion because they shouldn't be able to make up a number for the consequences for inmates. I would have some type of format that they should go by for like what is it that they are doing inside the jail to have them placed in whatever for example solitary confinement. That way its fair for everyone, everyone's happy its going to be a good day.
I wouldn't allow the prisoners a challenge to there solitary confinement in court because it would only be for a month unless its a repeated offense. There already in jail for a reason why should they be challenged in court for solitary confinement. It would just take up to much time and money for that to happen. Its their own actions that get them place there in the first place so why bother trying to help them.

Gangs will always exists because theres not really much the government can do to stop it. Even if they pass new laws gangs still wont follow them. Mainly because there already in the gang to kill and do what it takes to achieve there objective even if its drug deals or robbery. So they already know the consequences of what it is to be a gang member but they still risk it.

Capital Punishment is an effective detterent to crime because it would set out an example on how far the law would take it. Than just couple years in jail and such, that way people can relate to that and possibly change there view on things to stop crime. That can be a good benefit, a weakness to capital punishment can be that in some situations it might not be fair that some were given a death penalty and others didnt when both crimes were as harsh. Like how it doesnt fit the crime and people still get away with it. What i found cool about death penaltys is that there are 5 awesome ways to execute them especially the Gas Chamber and Firing Squad than just the boring way of a lethal injection, have to let them suffer to there death. They should give out death penaltys more often then wasting there time and our money in jail. What i dont understand is how a death penalty case would cost up to 2.3 mill, i thought it would be for like a couple cents to put 1 bullet in there head. If you let me do it ill kill them for 1 mill save them up to 50%.

Insanity

Well in my opinion i disagree on the outcome of her punishment because no matter how insane she was she was treated and given medicine for that. But what the doctor said by having more kids can increase her stress level and with 5 kids thats not really helping her when she is living in a trialer, and bus. With her stop taking her meds really triggered her to do something insane by killing her children but her being a nurse would know the affects and outcomes of when she doesnt take it. Like she knew but chose not to so defending herself with a insanity case i feel it shouldnt work because in her conditions. Also her husband should have helped her with the kids assuming her conditions and could have afforded a better living space than a trialer and a bus. But instead she should have been punished with a death penalty if not make her stay in a higher level of mental facility because clearly she isnt safe to be in public. Who needs these type of phycos in the world its not like we dont have enough of them. Send her to China or something because they arent populated at all. What would you do if somebody close to you done something like this?

Crime can be prevented by enforcing more police in the inner-city where the majority of the crimes happen to insure the safety of others. Also to catch the criminals and establish stricter sentences so the people watching knows the consequences. If we cant stop the illegal activity we can legalize it so less crimes wont occur that arent as important as the others like murder, rape, etc that can actually do harm to others. Like drugs is major issue if the one chooses to do it and let him risk his well being and health then might as well. It can eliminate the majority of the crimes so polices and law enforcers can focus on others that are more important, if we cant stop them all. Some limitations are money for having more police officers roaming.
